Population Explosion- A Lasting Bio-Hazard For The Developing World

 

Population explosion is often deemed as a modern hazard by many researchers since it directly affects the quality of people’s lives by impacting on employment opportunities, exhausting renewable and non-renewable resources, boosting corruption across varied social aspects, increasing crimes rates and numerous direct and indirect afflictions which can be identified through manifestation of various societal absurdities and atrocities. It is true that countries with aptly controlled and well maintained civic lives realize best of life styles, enjoy maximum governmental and societal benefits and lead a life full of bliss and security. On the contrary, countries with consistently increasing population are prone to poverty, starvation, unemployment, rise in crimes and corruption, and severe inequality between the rich and poor. An epitome of this phenomenon is a realistic comparison between two major super powers of the world, USA and India that are substantially different in numerous aspects; however, the notable factual distinction in context to this study is the difference between the two key demographic parameters between nations. The USA which is over 4 times larger in size than India has a population of just 332,639,102 as per July 2020 data where as India has an exponential population of 1,326,093,247 which is an alarming situation for the nation since this would only imply substantial and consistent rise in crime rates, corruption, inequality, degradation of quality of lives, rise in unemployment rates, rise poverty and starvation. 

One might argue that China equals India in population and that its population must exert equal impact on China's every demographic component, however, upon careful examination it can be found that China far supersedes India in almost all demographic factors and that since China is thrice the size of India impact of its huge population does not seem to  impact the country to the extent it impacts us. Despite the consistent increase in population China seems to be maintaining a healthy economic growth, rising employment opportunities across diverse industries, influx of FDIs, and improved life styles. Thus, it can be said that right resource management and appropriate control of the population is utmost necesary in building a progressive, developed and wealthy nation. This is indeed inevitable for any country that aspires to grow and flourish in today's highly competitive business world.
